Offering Workshops at Mystic Garden Party

Workshop Offer Form

Greetings friends, we do appreciate the gifts you have and your willing spirit to share at our Mystic Garden gatherings. If you were going to inquire if there is a workshop space available for our 2nd annual Maui Mystic Garden Party, we're sorry to say we are fully scheduled and there is no more time to schedule anymore.

We still welcome you to submit a workshop offer form for our other festivals including our Summer Mystic Garden Party in the southern Oregon area, our Portland event in the spring (Mar 20th-22nd) and our Fall event in upstate NY, Sept 20th - 22nd.

Again, if you'd like to offer a workshop please click our link above to fill out our "Workshop Offer Form". This is how we gather workshop info, choose presenters, and then upload your workshop description and your bio onto the site. Our standard offer for those who do a workshop is usually a free day pass the day of the workshop or the equivilent value of your day pass off the cost of your weekend pass of choice. If you're very established teaching workshops and could help us draw others to come to this retreat, we could make other arrangements. Thank you for being willing to bring your healing arts talents and other gifts you have to share. This energy is what helps make these gatherings extra uplifting and transformational. After submitting your proposed workshop please email us pics: workshops@mysticgardenparty.com.

We are honored to present Alex Grey at this year’s Maui Mystic Garden
Party in February. Alex is considered to be the top visionary artist in the
world dedicated to the craft of, as he puts it, becoming a “transparent medium
through which a person is able to reconnect with his or her own deeper nature.”
Alex has studied the human body and spiritual experience at such length, that
he has developed a profound ability to depict the mystical relationship between
consciousness and the body with such detail that it has been known to evoke
a transcednetal experience in the viewer. In Maui, Alex will be giving a talk
about his life experience as well as displaying original artwork and selling
prints. Also for our Sponsors, VIPs and Special Guests only, we have planned
an intimate “Meet and Greet” party with Alex and Allyson Grey the day
before the event, where you will have an opportunity to get a limited edition
autographed print. You can preview Alex Grey’s amazing work at COSM.org.

Ram DassRam Dass will be offering a talk again this year. We'll "be here now" with him and see where the moment takes us. It's easy to imagine us going into wonderful realms of bliss & laughter as we enjoy a rare chance sit, relax & receive some kind of wisdom & activation!

Ram Dass first went to India in 1967. He was still Dr. Richard Alpert, an already eminent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr.Timothy Leary. He had continued his psychedelic research until that fateful Eastern trip in 1967, when he traveled to India. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who gave Ram Dass his name, which means "servant of God." Everything changed then - his intense dharmic life started, and he became a pivotal influence on a culture that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now” ever since. Ram Dass’s spirit has been a guiding light for three generations, carrying along millions on the journey, helping free them from their bonds as he has worked his way through his own.

Conversations About 2012
Daniel Pinchbeck
Daniel Pinchbeck
Daniel Pinchbeck has written features for The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Wired, Harper's Bazaar, The Village Voice, Salon, and many other publications. He is one of the founders of Open City, an art and literary journal, and an independent book publisher. He was a 1999 - 2000 Fellow of the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University. He has also been a columnist for The Art Newspaper of London, and an editor at Connoisseur Magazine. Born in 1966, he grew up in New York City, where his father, Peter Pinchbeck, was an abstract painter. His mother, Joyce Johnson, was part of the Beat Generation in the 1950s. She is the author of several books, including Minor Characters, a memoir. He went to Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, then worked as a magazine editor and journalist,

Back in New York, he began to study shamanism and the magical plants used in rituals. On assignment, he went to Gabon, in West Africa, and took iboga, a long-lasting psychedelic rootbark, in an initiation ceremony. He visited a shaman in Oaxaca, the son of the famous shamaness Maria Sabina. He attended a conference on "Visionary Entheobotany" in Palenque, Mexico and visited Burning Man. He went down to the Ecuadorean Amazon to visit the Secoya tribe and take ayahuasca, a visionary medicine.

Breaking Open the Head describes his own process of discovery, and a profound paradigm shift. He admits to still being surprised - even extremely astonished - at what he has found. Through direct experience, Pinchbeck learned that shamanism was a real phenomenon, that direct access to the spiritual world is available to anybody who is willing to explore for themselves and escape the prevailing orthodoxies, the "irrational rationality" of the current system. He supports the perspective of Christ in the Gnostic "Gospel of Thomas," who said: "Open the door for yourself, so you will know what is."
